Nothing embodies my thoughts on religion than these two sets of quotes. Though these are not put here to endorse hate against any religions currently in existance in our world but rather, as my personal statement made public on a small scale. Most of these are picked up from the "Root of All Evil?" which is a documentary exploring the implications of fundamentalist religions in our world especially pretaining to certain monotheistic ones.
"Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing bad things, but for good people to do bad things, it takes religion."

"The time has come for people of reason to say: enough is enough. Religious faith discourages independent thought, it's divisive, and it's dangerous."
"For many people, part of growing up is killing off the virus of faith with a good strong dose of rational thinking. But if an individual doesn't succeed in shaking it off, his mind is stuck in a permanent state of infancy, and there is a real danger that he will infect the next generation."

Science is based on evidences and religion and faith is based on non thinking and non questioning. Its not the proving of whether this deity or deities exists but rather the human factor and the morals that certain religion imply. Its time for secular moral education by the use of secular humanist philosophies instead of regulation by religious "laws".
I got alot to say on this subject that takes me hours to full explain (yes seriously)
and cannot be embodied fully into this post. So I will leave it as this, a fragment of what I am thinking.
