One day, just one day ... I will become an emperor of my own empire. Being King/Emperor is not an easy job, the lives of the people depend on your decision. Of course there were many emperors and kings who did nought that and got away with it. The riches that accompanies the dragon throne(or what ever throne it will be)is because 1) Yes, the emperor has more responsibility than any other person in the kingdom. 2)payment for the hardwork. 3) to show and display the riches and powers of the kingdom to other kingdoms.
Needless to say if you have a poor weak kingdom, you must never try to build your palace first with gold and silver. The people will disown your leadership and rebel. You must place the people first, and in turn your people will place you first. This circle/cycle is the rule to leadership in all aspects.
The Emperor has to behave like an emperor with a certain kind of air, and the emperor does not/must not stoop low, because it is not the people who watches when the emperor stoops low, it is the officials and the closest to the emperor that waits for the moment that this happens and usurps power for himself, getting rid of the crowned one. 1)The emperor should not fear his people rebel if he has done his best for his people but, indeed fear those who indulge too much together with the Emperor(officials) in his own house. 2)The emperor must not treat his people like slaves for the very food on his table comes from his people, but he must treat them like loyal subjects and justly. 3)The Emperor must be just and upright but also must be able to bring harsh capital punishment appopriately as lest the people see the emperor as weak and incapable of bringing justice. 4) The emperor must be wary of words spoken to his ear, the only true words are what the emperor must see and hear for himself not the stories of officials.
I after all still preach the circle doctrine.... everything is a cycle. if you believe it works, if you do not it does not work. like in this article, "treat your people well, and they will revere your pressence"
