New Year 2007
What was I doing when new year dawn upon us? I was watching the most outrageous display of pop culture I had ever seen on channel 5 and sipping my wines as usual. Mainstream pop culture is changing, and I saw a bunch of buffons, artless and boorish people performing on stage, inwhich you cannot tell any of them are male OR female. Now that is indeed disturbing, where have all the good old positive music and culture went? What has happened to that era where all that is good is amplified in music? Most of all, what happened to the classics?
2007 means advancing to the future... However if one is to consider the outcomes of trying new ideas and abandon the traditions of the past. To preserve culture, we preserve our identity, what for do we preserve the cultures of others? Why do we want so much to have a western identity? Afterall, the chinese empire has fluorished for 5000 years so who else can compare to that long peroid of history?
Religious matters... I have recently successfully "convert" (it should be revert) someone from a monothestic religion (im not going to name it). This is wonderful news, as the words of richard dawkins ...
"For many people, part of growing up is killing off the virus of faith with a good strong dose of rational thinking. But if an individual doesn't succeed in shaking it off, his mind is stuck in a permanent state of infancy, and there is a real danger that he will infect the next generation."
