Why Monte Cristo?
Well there have been questions about why my blog is named the Le comte de monte cristo (Count of monte cristo). Actually its original name was *Verbum Dei, however, since I am continously being disillusion with the idea of *Deus, and all his/her/its infinite greatness, I decide to rename this blog in honor of the man who took destiny to his own hands by the chance of fate.
Sounds contradictory? Well, such things do happen. Edmond dantes did meet the right man in prison, if he had not met the abbe in the prison, I believe he would have never been able to carry out his revenge on his "friends", lest being the ever so powerful Count of Monte Cristo. We should all follow this great character of determination, not to wreck revenge to say, but, to be able to grab every single oppurtunity life throws at us. Edmond was doomed to die in all ways, all his friends betrayed him to to most highest crime in his days, Treason against the kind of france. Of course, from that prisoner he became a rich noble because he had faith not only in his own beliefs, but also his mentor (abbe).

Reading the papers recently, I seen and came across many things associated with blogs, like teachers being affected by what students say and all the things associated with the racist remarks made by certain bloggers. Most blogs I have read sometimes critise about the level of the freedom of speech and what we should have in a democratic country (rights and stuff).
To me, its a simple matter, so as long as the government stays corruption free, stays
stable and most importantly cares for the people of the country ... is it not a fair exchange in the name of progress? Some things can be changed and some things cannot, I believe, we cannot have the same freedoms as the west, we must be able to retain our asian culture and traditions (especially Confucian values). Sometimes we got to look back at our roots, and see what has been effective(in our past history) and not just follow whatever because everyone follows it.
I guess, I pretty much preached enough here :) To spur condemnation and hatred is never a good thing, rationally talk (think)things out, especially to students, sometimes one must see things from other perspectives, always think thrice before you act (like what those officials say to the emperors of china haha) Stay safe, blog smart.
